Ok... I know what you are thinking... that these are JUST rings, right? You are probably wondering where the emotion and beauty is for one of my favorite images. It is there if you look hard enough. Lauren and Jon's wedding at the Upper Montclair Country Club began for me at Lauren's home. I generally start off with photographing the details but every now and then I go back to rephotograph them before I leave. Below was one of the first shots I took of the rings. A very safe and clean ring shot. I also took one with a New York Times newspaper (not shown). After I shot the details, Lauren opened up a gift she received from Jon. One of the gifts was a journal documenting their journey and leaving many blank pages for the future. On the front of the journal was a heart, their initials and wedding date. I placed the rings in the middle of the heart. I turned Jon's band to showcase an inscription that Jon will see every time he places his ring in its holder. I then anchored Lauren's rings on Jon's. This was the final image. While most may only see this as, 'Just another ring shot', this is so much more. A reminder of their past, present and future journey. A reminder of their commitment forever and ever. And finally, that they are each other's anchor no matter what life throws at them.
